Guages...making an order.

Quick question. Importhookup.com will be hosting carparts.com's one day sale so I'll be using that as an opportunity to order everything that really I need such as guages.

I've heard of people using dual guage pods and then adding a single to their A-pillar. Doesn't Autometer make a standard triple? Second, will 2 1/16" guages fit in these pods or 2 5/8" or both?

Which of the two sizes do most people prefer?

I know these questions may have been asked a million times, but there's such a huge selection that it's hard to sort out (or is it just me?) and and I'm sure you've been to AM's site. Man, it's a pain.

Took care of all questions above. I do, however, need to know if there's any other accessories to purchase other than what's included with each guage for a proper install.

Which guages did you order? Most come with everything you need except the fuel pressure guage. You will need the B&M banjo bolt to connect the sender to the filter.

Haven't taken the time to fully understand how everything works regarding guages and the sender. Now this banjo bolt you're refering to from what B&M accessory? The fuel pressure riser or guage?

The reason I'm asking this is because a lot of people are using the Commandflo fuel riser and I figure I wouldn't be neeeding one since I plan on installing the Cartech FMU with the addition of my guages. Am I right or would I benefit with the additional install of the fuel riser?

I admit it, I am ignorant to of all this fuel delivery stuff. But I decided I'm finally gittin' of my arse and not neglect the fuel system imperfections of my setup. I'm finally going to install my Cartech and banish the evil that is detonation!

Yeah. I'm ordering the U-Lites for all guages. However, the Phantom FP guage does include the sender which brings us to this question. How much does one of these sender things cost?

If you are fighting part throttle or tip-in detonation problems, you will need to purchase the B&M Command Flo (or equivalent) regulator so that you can adjust the tip-in point of the Cartech FMU properly.

Most FP senders are around $40 if you buy them seperate. It's the full sweep gauge that costs more compared to the short sweep.

The "B&M Banjo Bolt" is what comes with the $30 B&M mechanical filter top fuel pressure gauge. It replaces the banjo bolt that attaches the fuel line to the top of the fuel filter. It has a 1/8" NPT socket tapped into it.

It is a very clean way to attach fuel pressure gauges/senders. You can Tee off it to have an underhood mechanical gauge and an electric FP sender at the same time.

Unfortunately, you can't get the bolt without buying the $30 gauge. If you want to be cheap about things (like I mistakenly was), you can cut the fuel hose between the filter and fuel rail and put a Tee in to mount the electric sender.

I would strongly recommend plunking down another $30 to get the B&M gauge and banjo bolt. Not only is it a cleaner install, but it's also nice to have an underhood gauge to use while adjusting FPR's.

Jim's talking about the regulator on the driver's side of the fuel rail. B&M makes a nice mod for that.

I'm talking about the stuff on top of the fuel filter.
